A history of the translations of the Bible is given, beginning in the fourth century with Jerome and continuing through the Reformation to the seventeenth century. As it was translated from the Hebrew to Latin, words were changed thereby changing the meaning as well because the Latin version was influenced by the Catholic Church. In Tyndale’s translation (1525), which was from the Greek to English, the words were given their true meaning. Matthew 28:19 (NKJV)
