Spring 2020 – The following Life Groups will be offered.

Prayer Meeting

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer (Romans 12:12); They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer (Acts 2:42); Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving (Col. 4:2). Prayer is foundational to the Christian faith. Let’s gather with like-minded believers and see for yourself how God answers the prayers of His people. One of our deacons will lead this weekly time of intercession in the Fishers of Men classroom each Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.

Dr. David Jeremiah’s Slaying the Giants in Your Life

Fear. Discouragement. Loneliness. Worry. Guilt. Temptation. Anger. Resentment. Doubt. Procrastination. Failure. Jealousy. Which giant is intimidating you? Perhaps fear has your number. Maybe loneliness has you locked out. Whichever giant may be bullying you, the message of this series is that God has the strength to bring you victory! Bob & Judy Whitley will facilitate this David Jeremiah study each Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm in the Green Room.

The Story – by Max Lucado

The Story is the story of the Bible, God’s great love affair with humanity. It sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible people and events from Genesis to Revelation, told as one grand narrative. Tom and Jean Harris will begin the study of the book The Story by Max Lucado. This is a 31-week overview of the entire Bible in chronological order. The emphasis is on the continuity of the Bible with Jesus as the central figure. This discussion-based study is offered separately on both Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm and on Sunday morning at 9:15 am. You’ll find the Harrises at the end of the hallway in the education wing.

Gideon (Women’s Study) – begins Wednesday, March 4, 2020

When we hear the name Gideon, most of us think about his 300 soldiers or a fleece spread beneath the evening sky.  But Gideon’s story is so much bigger than that.  This is a story about God and His people—His love for them, as well as His strength operating in spite of, even through, their weakness.  Let this study encourage you to recognize your weakness as the key that the Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life.  Instead of ignoring, neglecting, or trying to escape your weaknesses, learn to see them as the gifts given specifically and strategically by God.  If you’ve ever felt insufficient, ill-equipped, incompetent, or outnumbered, this study is for you.  Meet in the Fellowship Hall each Wednesday at 6:30 pm where Sally Gaertner will facilitate this study by Priscilla Shirer.

Ladies Mid-Week Bible Study

Live Brilliantly (Women’s Study)

Each session from Lenya Heitzig’s book Live Brilliantly study, covers the Book of 1 John and reminds readers that when their lives reflect God’s light, no darkness can overtake them. When a Christian follows God’s Word, light shines on their decisions, relationships, and actions. Their words as they live out the gospel bring light to even the darkest places. Patti Kuykendall coordinates this mid-week study for women each Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Annex.
The ladies mid-week Bible study will resume in January 2020.
