Last week we looked at Malachi 3 and what the Old Testament said about tithing. Most of the Old Testament was written for pre-resurrection time, although the moral laws of the Old Testament are still relevant today. We must compare the Old and New Testament laws to determine which are applicable to the Old Testament Jews and which are applicable to the New Testament Christians. In the New Testament, we are told to give generously, give cheerfully, and to set aside something on the first day of the week for the work of the Church.
