Jesus had planned to pass by the disciples because they had not understood who he was. However, He decided to have mercy on them and got in the boat with them to save them from the storm. God has every right to pass us by and leave us to judgement for our sins. But He is the Great Shepherd who wants to draw His sheep to Him.
