Before Moses led Israel out of Egypt, the Lord had one last thing to do.  God promised to kill the first born of every family unless the blood of a lamb was applied to the door of each home.  The night of the Passover and the proceeding freedom of the Israelites was a cause of great celebration, but could also be a time of great sorrow.
