    Our Work Ethic
Our work ethic is a great way to witness about our faith. Work was instituted in Genesis 3 and Paul talks about our work ethic in Colossians when he says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,”. Genesis 3: 17-19; Ephesians 6: 5-8, Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

    Your Story
A message to Graduates that applies to us all: Your story can be a powerful witness. It is a story like no other and because it is yours, it cannot be disputed. God wants us to share our stories of His work in our lives. 1 Kings 18:1-4, 16-22 (NIV)

Faith can produce a powerful witness. Brother Mike explains how the acronym BLESS can help us to develop a deep and abiding faith, which in turns enable us to have an effective witness. 2 Kings 4: 1-7 (NIV)

    Mother’s Day
    Series: Mother's Day
Christians are to nurture those who need the Gospel and who need discipleship much as a mother would nurture her children. We are to cherish them and lead them to know the Lord and then help them to grow in the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 2:6-8; 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NKJV)

    Selfishness
Many people go to church, but don’t interact with other believers. God wants us to have fellowship with other believers and to develop relationships with them. We can do this through attending Bible study, praying, meeting together outside of church, visiting the sick and needy together, etc. Brother Mike explains why this is an important part of our Christian witness to others. (Acts 2:42-47; Romans 16; 1 Corinthians 16:1-4; Hebrews 10:23-24 (NKJV)

    Peaceful Lives
Worry is another vice that diminishes our witness. God wants you to have peace, so you can be an effective witness to others. How do you get that peace? Brother Mike addresses that very issue today. (2Kings 6, Matthew 6:25-34)

    Get Out of Your Routine
This week Brother Mike addresses how doubts can diminish your witness. Many times, our doubts become a part of our routine and we don’t even realize it. It is important to replace our doubts with trust and to reject thoughts and words from the enemy. Mark 8:33 (NIV)

    Tame Your Tongue
Do you have a problem getting others to believe that you are a Christian? Perhaps you are a stumbling block. Constant complaining keeps us from having a good witness. It’s not that we don’t believe-it’s that we don’t show we believe or trust in God’s plan when we constantly complain about things in our lives. Matthew 26:47-27:26 (HCSB)

    Passion Week
    Series: Easter
A lot can happen in the spans of a week. Within one week, the Jews went from praising Jesus to crucifying him. They expected a Messiah that would conquer the Romans and set them physically free. Instead, Jesus came to set them spiritually free. True freedom comes when you turn from sin and turn to God. Mark 11:1-21 (HCSB)"04-09-2017".

Faithfulness Faithfulness is the exhibition of faith. Our faithfulness is the fruit of the way we live our lives. We can’t claim faithfulness to God if we are not faithful to body of believers He has put around us. John 17 (HCSB)

    Searching For Glory
    Series: No Series
Where Do You Find Glory? Everyone wants to know that they are significant and that their life matters. We innately look for “glory” in our lives through popularity, status, material belongs, etc. As a Christian, we are to glorify God, and in doing so, we find our value and worth to God. John 12: 12-31 (HCSB)

Last week we looked at Malachi 3 and what the Old Testament said about tithing. Most of the Old Testament was written for pre-resurrection time, although the moral laws of the Old Testament are still relevant today. We must compare the Old and New Testament laws to determine which are applicable to the Old Testament Jews and which are applicable to the New Testament Christians. In the New Testament, we are told to give generously, give cheerfully, and to set aside something on the first day of the week for the work of the Church. Galatians 3:23-26, 2 Corinthians 9:6-11, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Matthew 6:33 (HCSB)

Malachi 3 is often used as the text for tithing. However, as Bro. Mike points out, this text was written during Nehemiah’s time to Israelites who were still under the Mosiac Law. Malachi was chastising them because the tithe was supposed to be used to support the Levite priests and the priests were out working in the fields because the Israelites were not tithing. It is important when looking at Old Testament laws to look at what the New Testament says about them. Giving for today’s Christians, according to the New Testament, looks very different from the tithe of the Old Testament. Giving is an exhibition of faith, not a requirement of law for the believer. Malachi 3 (HCSB)

Before you can deal with matters on the outside, you must first deal with matters on the inside: your mind, will, and emotions. Is there anything (bitterness, anger, frustration, resentment, anxiety, unforgiveness, or feelings of entitlement) that would make God uncomfortable to reside in your heart? (1 Corinthians 2:6-16, 2 Corinthians 5:16 HCSB)
