    A Church Service Gone Bad
Jesus went to the synagogue in Nazareth on the Sabbath and read from the scroll of the book of Isaiah. The verses he read were from Isaiah 61:1-2. When he finished, he explained how Elijah had been sent to the Gentiles during the drought because the Hebrews had turned their back on him. Jesus used that scripture to show that he would bring salvation to the Gentiles, because he knew that the Jews would not accept him. This greatly angered those who were in the synagogue and they attempted to kill him. (Tablet video unavailable due to technical problems)

    Daniel: The Teflon Prophet
A lot of things were thrown at Daniel, but nothing of an evil nature would stick. He had such a strong faith in God that the evil perpetrated by the governors of King Darius of Babylon was not able to sway him from praying to the one true God three times a day.

David faced obstacles in his confrontation with Goliath: fear (logic) that said a shepherd boy could never defeat the well-armed, gigantic warrior and discouragement from his brother who mocked his even being at the scene of the battle. However, David had faith that God was with him and would make him successful in defeating Goliath.

It took a few times before Samuel understood that it was the Lord, but when he did, he gave an example of what we should all do when the Lord calls. He listened.

    Pleasing The Lord
Early in the Exodus, Moses sent spies into Canaan to check out the land and the people who live there.  All the spies, except Joshua and Caleb, didn't believe that Israel could conquer the land.  Joshua and Caleb pleased the Lord by trusting Him to see Israel through.  It is this time in the history that Bro. Mike revisits.
