Jesus and his disciples begin to baptize believers and John the Baptist’s followers question John about their authority to do so. John says that Jesus’ power was given to Him from Heaven and that He must increase, and that John must decrease. He knew that his ministry was coming to an end as Jesus’ ministry was just beginning. Later we see Jesus in Samaria speaking to a Samaritan women at Jacob’s well. He speaks to her not only of her sin in her personal life, but also of the inaccuracies of her religious and cultural beliefs about the Messiah.
