The Sabbath is the heart of Judaism. It is the only day of creation given a name. There are thousands of Oral Laws governing this day, many more than what are in Scripture. Jesus showed His authority over the Sabbath by healing the man at Bethesda The Pharisees were livid because, although Jesus broke no Scriptural laws, He did break their oral laws. In a similar fashion, Martin Luther led the Great Reformation after studying the Bible and realizing that many of the “laws” of the Catholic Church were not found in Scripture and were in fact just traditions.
