A Testimony About God By A Syrian (an enemy of Israel)
Series: No Series

There are times when we all need to be refreshed a Onesiphorus refreshed Paul. When we feel overwhelmed with our burdens, it is nice to have a Christian brother or sister remind us of God’s love and provision. Sometimes, we may need to be the one helping someone to be refreshed by being their reminder that God is with them and God loves them. 2 Timothy 1:15-18 (NKJV)

If we are blessed with more than we need, do we hoard it or share it with those in need? Sharing with those in need brings blessings to our lives that are immeasurable. Luke 12: 13-21, Revelation 7: 9 (NKJV)

    At War with Satan
In Revelation 12, we see the Dragon (Satan) and his angels at war with Michael the Archangel and his angels. Satan lost that war and was cast out of Heaven. His full-time job now is trying to keep us out of Heaven and trying to destroy Christians, so they cannot spread God’s Word to others. He has declared war on God, the Church, and you and me personally. He attacks us on several fronts trying to destroy love, our prayer life, and our faith. So how do we battle Satan? Revelation 12: 7-8, Jude 1:0, Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

    History of the Lord’s Supper
    Series: No Series
The Lord’s Supper in the New Testament churches was very different from how we conduct the Lord’s Supper today. Each denomination celebrates it a little differently. Brother Mike discusses how things have changed over the last 2000 years. 1 Corinthians 11: 23-25 (NKJV)

    Are You Listening?
The parable of the sower is about hearing the Word of God. It discusses those whose hearts are hardened against God’s Word, those who are weak and stumble under the weight of tribulations and persecutions, those who are unfruitful because they let the cares of this world become more important, and those who bear fruit. Matthew 13: 1-23 (NKJV)

    High and Lifted Up
As we face problems in our life, God is still on His throne. He hasn’t left us. Isaiah turned to God in the midst of all his troubles, knowing that God was in control. Isaiah 6: 1-8 (NKJV)

Learning to Use Your Left Hand In the Ministry
Most people who are right-handed seldom use their left hand, other than to support the right hand, because it is uncomfortable. In a similar fashion, people often hang on to certain traditions in the church because they’ve always done it that way and it is comfortable. However, we run into trouble if the traditions become more important than God’s Word or they replace the Gospel as with the Pharisees in the Gospel of Mark. Mark 7: 1-13 (NKJV)

    Liabilities in the Abundant Life
What does the Abundant Life look like? If we think of the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5: 22-23), we see Love, Joy, and Peace. This sounds great and we definitely want those things in our lives. But as we continue to read in Galatians, the next fruit is Longsuffering. Longsuffering can mean several things, including trials and tribulations which Pastor Mike refers to as liabilities. God allows these liabilities in our lives to allow His purpose to be fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 11: 23-28; James 1: 2-4; Romans 5: 3-4; Psalm 40: 1-3; 2 Corinthians 4: 15-17; Ruth 1: 1-22; Ruth 4: 21-22 (NKJV)

Colossians speaks to a mystery that once was hidden and now is revealed. That mystery is that, when you become a Christian, Christ dwells within you. This becomes our motivation to share the Gospel with others and to realize the Gospel is meant for all peoples on Earth. We should never discriminate when it comes to sharing God’s Word with others. Colossians 1: 24-29; Matthew 10: 5-6; Ephesians 2: 11-19; Romans 1: 16 (NKJV)

    The Tongue
Romans says to present ourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and our members as instruments of righteousness to God. The tongue is a little member of our body, but the Bible tells us it is an unruly evil, full of poison. The tongue is the organ by which the heart expresses itself and nowhere is faith more visible than by our speech. Romans 6:13; James 3:5-12 (NKJV)

    Slave vs Servant & Ownership
In Philippians, Paul refers to himself as a bond-servant (slave). The difference between being a slave of Christ and a servant of Christ is control. Servants can choose how they wish to serve, but a slave cannot for he/she is owned by God. The word slave denotes that there is a Master. Psalm 24 tells us that everything and everyone belongs to God. Brother Mike expounds on this idea of slave vs. servant and God’s ownership of all things. Philippians 1:1; Psalm 24:1 (NKJV)

    Being Positive
Being positive is not always easy. We are not commanded to direct our feelings because these cannot be controlled directly, only indirectly by controlling our will and our minds. If we are going to effective for God, we have to be positive. To have a positive outlook, we must trust God and be in God’s will. (Mark 4: 35-40 (NKJV)

Must Be Right To Do Right
As we have discussed, the Abundant Life involves Justification, Substitution, and Consecration. These three areas create friction in our lives so we can walk with God. They enable us to “be right” with God and lead to Reconciliation, which enables us to “do right”. These four areas give our lives purpose. Today we learn how reconciliation helps us to “do right”. Galatians 6:; John 21 1-25; John 13: 37-38; Matthew 26: 31-35 (NKJV)
