Bad Habits Die Hard
The journey to the Promised Land was not just to get the Israelites out of Egypt but also Egypt out of them. The nation of Israel developed some pretty bad habits that they needed to break, but it wasn't easy. Bro. Mike discusses what it took as we continue exploring Moses' journey of faith.

    Remember
During the first three months and three days of Israel's journey in the wilderness, Israel was tested by hunger, their willingness to trust the Lord, and their ability to be a nation of priests. For the Israelites, God instructed them to place items in the Ark Of The Covenant that invoked those tests. For Christians, Jesus' time in the wilderness mirrored those tests. Both actions are recorded for we would remember those first tests.

    Bitter Sweet
Before Moses led Israel out of Egypt, the Lord had one last thing to do.  God promised to kill the first born of every family unless the blood of a lamb was applied to the door of each home.  The night of the Passover and the proceeding freedom of the Israelites was a cause of great celebration, but could also be a time of great sorrow.

The Four Ps Of The Plagues

When Moses first went to Pharaoh to release Israel, Pharaoh not only declined, but push the Israelite slaves even harder. Moses even questioned the Lord regarding Moses' purpose in Egypt. The Lord then displays His person, promise, purpose, and power through the plagues brought upon Pharaoh and the Egyptians.

In Scripture, it says that God is love and that God is light.  One other description of God that isn't talked about very much is that God is fire.  Bro. Mike discusses this aspect of God and how that fire helped prepare Moses to bring the nation of Israel out of Egypt.

    Winning Combination

Mike discusses how, in the second forty years of Moses' life, Moses had so little, he was even tending his father-in-laws flock,  Bro. Mike also draws a comparison between Moses and Jesus Christ.

    A Mother’s Teaching
On Mother's Day 2014, Bro. Mike discusses how the faith of Moses' mother, Jocebed, allowed to trust that Moses would be taken care when she placed him in the Nile.  Also, during her time with Moses, the teaching she gave him allowed him to forsake the trappings of Egypt so he could acquire what he needed to lead Israel out of the Egypt.

    Serious Business
Continuing through the Hall Of Faith, Bro. Mike begins discussing the life of Moses.  Before one can discuss the life of Moses, the events that surrounded the birth of Moses must be explored.  The two midwives mentioned in Chapter 1 of Exodus showed how seriously they took the business of the Lord.

    Letting Go
There are times in the Christian life that the Lord asks us to let go of something we hold dear to further His will for our lives.  In the life of Jacob, it is no different.  In order to buy food in Egypt, Jacob is required to let his son Benjamin go with his brothers. What Jacob didn't know was who was waiting for him in Egypt.

    A Serving Faith
There are times when serving the Lord and keeping the faith can place us in situations that we do not understand.  During those times, we can choose to complain and be frustrated, or, like Joseph during his time in an Egyptian prison, we can continue to follow the Lord and serve others during our time of discomfort.
