Paul wants us to have the same attitude and mindset as Christ. He begins Philippians 2 with some “If, Then” statements basically saying that since “this” is true, then you should be doing “this” and not be doing “this”. However, before we can put those things into practice, we must first delve into the mindset of Christ and try to understand how He could have left his home in Heaven to come to Earth as a bondservant and die a humiliating death all because He loved us. The Pharisee and The Tax Collector
    Series: No Series
This parable shocked the people who thought they were good and followed all the laws and hated those who did not, like the tax collector. Jesus explained that those who recognized they were sinners, humbled themselves and asked for mercy and forgiveness for their sins would be justified. It is in coming to God with a repentant heart and accepting Jesus as our Savior that we are saved, not by our good deeds. Luke 18:9-14; Proverbs 8:13, 16:18; Psalm 51:17 (NKJV)

There are times when we all need to be refreshed a Onesiphorus refreshed Paul. When we feel overwhelmed with our burdens, it is nice to have a Christian brother or sister remind us of God’s love and provision. Sometimes, we may need to be the one helping someone to be refreshed by being their reminder that God is with them and God loves them. 2 Timothy 1:15-18 (NKJV)

This becomes our motivation to share the Gospel with others and to realize the Gospel is meant for all peoples on Earth. We should never discriminate when it comes to sharing God’s Word with others. Colossians 1: 24-29; Matthew 10: 5-6; Ephesians 2: 11-19; Romans 1: 16 (NKJV)
