Spring 2018 Life Groups

The spring Life Groups will begin the week of January 10, 2018, with the following classes offered.

Prayer Meeting

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer (Romans 12:12); They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer (Acts 2:42); Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving (Col. 4:2).  Prayer is foundational to the Christian faith. Let’s gather with like-minded believers and see for yourself how God answers the prayers of His people.  The Deacon of the Week will lead this weekly time of intercession in the Fisher’s of Men classroom each Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.

WE SAVED YOU A SEAT: Finding and Keeping Lasting Friendships
In today’s busy world, we’re wired to appear “fine,” warding off authenticity and shielding ourselves from judgment.  We hide behind the hum of busyness to escape intimate friendships with the women God has placed in our lives.  But we do want a seat at the table.  We yearn for authentic relationships and the opportunity to be the opposite of “fine” with people who cheer for us.  But comparison, envy, and entitlement often stop us from pulling out a chair at the table.  Friendships can be hard, making new friends even harder, and maintaining genuine friendship the hardest of all.
Sally Gaertner facilitates this 7-session Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Green Room. WE SAVED YOU A SEAT explores our relationship with Jesus as the ultimate model for authentic friendship. This study begins Wednesday, March 28, 2018, and the cost of the student book is

Ladies Mid-Week Bible Study

Billy Graham’s “Angels” – mid-week study for women

There has never been a time like the present when the subject of angels has created so much interest and attention. Dr. Billy Graham lifts the veil between the visible and the invisible world to give us an eye-opening account of these behind-the-scenes agents. This best-selling classic records the experiences of Dr. Graham and others who are convinced that at moments of special need they have been attended by angels. With keen insight and conviction, Dr. Graham affirms that: angels “think, feel, will, and display emotions” and at death, the faithful will be ushered by angels into the presence of God.  Mary-Ellen Long will lead this study on Wednesdays at 10am in the Annex beginning March 21, 2018.  The cost of the book is $6.00.

Our middle schoolers and high schoolers will begin each Wednesday evening meeting together in the Family Life Center.  After a time of games and announcements, the groups will be separating for Bible study.  Mrs. Joyce Hurt leads the middle schoolers in a study that speaks to issues preteens and young teenagers are facing during this time in their lives.
Pastor Matt Keller meets in the Annex with the high schoolers, where he will lead older teens to dig a little deeper into the scriptures and tackle issues specific to older students.
During the summer months, 7th-12th graders will meet together on Wednesdays in the Family Life Center from 6:00pm-7:30pm.  There is no dinner provided during the summer, so students will need to eat before they arrive.
