    Second Wind
Hebrews 11:35-12:1a Many of the prophets of the Old Testament were destitute, persecuted, and mistreated because of their faith. They endured because they believed in the promise of a Savior. They didn’t focus on what they saw, they focused on what they heard. We must also persevere and do God’s will. Then we will receive all that He has promised (Hebrews 10: 36-37).

    A Church Service Gone Bad
Jesus went to the synagogue in Nazareth on the Sabbath and read from the scroll of the book of Isaiah. The verses he read were from Isaiah 61:1-2. When he finished, he explained how Elijah had been sent to the Gentiles during the drought because the Hebrews had turned their back on him. Jesus used that scripture to show that he would bring salvation to the Gentiles, because he knew that the Jews would not accept him. This greatly angered those who were in the synagogue and they attempted to kill him. (Tablet video unavailable due to technical problems)
