Youth Ministry

THANK YOU FELLOWSHIP

For Jessica

As you probably know, Jessica will be leaving her staff position here at First Baptist. We are excited that Jessica and Josh plan to stay and minister here but now in a volunteer position. We would like to have a fellowship for Jessica on Wednesday night May 21st at 7:30 (after our regular service). Please come by for a moment and let Jessica know how much you appreciate her. If you are in choir, maybe you could stop by for just a moment before choir practice. I would encourage everyone to just bring a note of encouragement to let Jessica know how much we all appreciate her.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE

Ephesians 4:14-16 reminds us that we need to grow up in our faith and not be tossed around like some raft in a raging sea. We are going to take some time over the next several Wednesday nights to address some important issues that typically can be confusing today. Here is a list of the topics and when we will speak about them:

May 7: Is it okay to drink as long as I don’t get drunk?

May 14: Is magic real?

May21: Can I believe in the Bible without being stupid?

May 28: What does God think about dating in 2008 #1?

June 4: What does God think about dating in 2008 #2?

June 18: What does God think about dating in 2008 #3?

June 25: Will following God make me rich?

GET READY TO SERVE!

On Sunday nights we are going to start a new series on understanding how to minister. God equips each of us so that we can have an impact on this world. Each one of us is specially equipped for the tasks God has planned for us. Come on Sunday nights starting immediately and understand how you can use the gifts He has given you to impact this world in a positive way.

NEW MEXICO MISSION TRIP

June 7-14

I can’t believe summer is almost here! One highlight of each summer is our mission trip. I would really encourage you to consider coming and to encourage your teenager to come. This is a great trip for parents and other adults to join our teenagers in ministry. The cost of the trip will be $75. We need a $25 deposit paid by May 21st. We will be going to the Apache Creek Deaf and Youth Camp in Reserve, New Mexico. This camp has a great ministry to deaf people as well as impoverished young people in that area. If you cannot join us you might want to consider giving to help our work projects while we are there. This is a faith based ministry and is not supported by a large organization. We will be providing the funds for materials for the projects we will be working on. Last year we had a great time of ministry and I am excited to see God work again this year.

CENTRIFUGE SUMMER CAMP

July 20-26

Although the deadline has passed for deposits, we can still take additional campers as long as space is available. The total cost is $300 and the total amount is due by June 25th.

YOUTH WORK PROJECTS

We are still working on projects that allow our youth to earn money for camp. If you have a project that needs done please contact us and we will

try to arrange a work team to help you out. I want to thank all of you who have already provided work projects or scholarship money for camp. You are a true blessing to the young people of our church!

Trusting His Grace,

Bro. Paul
